Hi i found this store online
http://www.go-l.com/home/index.htm
It makes great claims at what its hardware can do, and explains have it can achieve this (supposed) performance.
First of all the price is absurd starting at $3k rising to over $6.8k
http://www.go-l.com/store/hardware/machl35.htm
but what seems to give away that this must be fake is, half way down the page it has "Additional Expansion Slots" where it says "Up to 74 full-length 32-bit or 64-bit optional PCI Slots Modules" which seems a bit much and i doubt it would be possible to fit them in the case never mind the chipset needed to control that many PCIs. Furthermore at the bottom of the page they say that they only give a 90 day parts and labour warranty and any extra warranty has to be bought.

It is possible that this is all genuine, but it does seem a bit far fetched and if the systems are so great why are there no reviews on the site?

Has to be a fake unless they are selling over clocked computers.

As you suspect, L Computers seems to be one magnificent scam. Any number of publications have tried to investigate the company to see if anyone has ever actually BOUGHT one of their systems and every attempt to get hold of one has failed.

For about the latest word, go to www.maximumpc.com (MaximumPC Magazine's site) and do a search. I'm sure you'll find the latest article (in the WatchDog section I think it was) about their attempts to buy one.

ALl in all, their supposed 'supercomputer for the home' looked good on paper, and may have been possible (in a way) by combining specialist hardware, but in practice it would be harder to keep the thing running than any sane person would want to deal with. Then you have to deal with software to run it all. I wouldn't be surprised if all the pre-boot drivers didn't make bootup a 5 minute process.

If, of course, the machines existed at all...

Whoa whoa you're saying that the infamous L-Computer is a big scam? I don't know about that... Maybe they work with Michaels Computers :)

Vindicated, I am selfish, I am wrong
I am right, I swear I'm right,
Swear I knew it all along

I love my PC I got from him. Only takes 4.4secs to boot.........to the BIOS that is.
