Fallout 4 Graphics Question

I am running Fallout 4 with a GTX Titan X on a 5960X CPU and 12 GB of DDR5 Vram with an X99 architecture motherboard and 32 GB of DDR4 memory out of a Thermaltake Core X9 case. Running Fallout 4, naturally, my rig places the graphics at Ultra settings, however, when the game runs at 1080p it still seems a bit jumpy compared to running the game on 1280x720 for example. Shouldn't this game be running like silk on this system when running the game at 1080p? Is there something I'm just not configuring right outside of the game?

I've even tried setting my Mobo, the Asus X99, to Asus Easy Overclocking within the BIOS and I still notice it jumping a bit in the game. Admittedly, I haven't monitored the FPS while playing, but with a gaming rig upwards of $6k I should think I shouldn't be experiencing this problem. I bought the setup in a time where I actually was unable to get my hardware any higher due to some of the needed parts not even being available yet (Z170A build was not available completely at the time of build). I am beginning to wonder if it is my monitor that needs an upgrade.

I am running on a 45 inch 60 HZ 1080p Samsung TV, so, opinions? What can I do to dabble into the waters of 4K with this game where I can get it to go off without a hitch? Thanks for help. :)

There appears to be a shadow distance bug that impacts frame rates even on the best of systems. Change your shadow distance from ultra to medium and it should fix the issue. I was getting dips below 30 fps in cities even with a 980 TI at 1080p but when I set shadow distance to medium it eliminated all issues and it stays at 60 fps now.

I wouldn't get a 4K panel if you want to drive AAA games at Ultra with 1 Titan X, But you definitely need to invest in an actual computer monitor if you are looking for performance. TVs by nature are bad at gaming.

Also, you should definitely monitor your frame rates and report back, and with a full list of the settings you are using. For example, you say the game is "jumpy". Is it like a stutter? That could be caused by using v-sync, which causes stuttering. If that's the case and you turn v-sync off, screen tearing will occur but you wont get any stuttering.

Idk what problem you guys are having i have almost the exact build as the op except i am using 16 gigs of 3000mhz ddr4 ram and i get 60fps at 4k with all settings maxed except i have AA turned off you can try this it may help

Hmm, ok, I will try shadows from ultra to medium, and turning AA off. I am definitely looking to get a better monitor but I also don't want to sacrifice size. Is there a way to get a 45 inch dedicated computer monitor ?

They really don't make monitors that big in 1080p. The two I could find were a 32" for ~$8,000 and a 70" for ~$12,000. You could get a 4K panel that's 42", but the cheapest one i found was ~$800, and you'd need more GPU power to run everything at max.

Ok, so for a 1080p 24" at least display running at 120Hz, any recommendations? Also, to the post above, did you mean $800 / $1200 or $8000 / $12,000? I can't possibly see even a dedicated computer monitor at 32" for 4K being $8000.
