False Local Area Connections?

When I install some drivers (e.g. WinTV usb, nVidia video capture) on my
K8T Neo FIS2R, a Local Area Connection is created. Does this happen to
anyone else here? It seems bizarre to me, and leads to network problems.

It's probably the firewire port doing that.

I disabled the 1394 port in the Bios, and it doesn't show up in Device
Manager.
