Fan Is Making Squeaking noises and spinning at 60,000 rpm?

I recently just built my first PC, and it worked first try and has worked great except for this fan. Here's my build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/gBhWgs

The problem fan is the Corsair Air Series AF140 Quiet Edition. When making my build I put this fan to be an intake on the bottom of my case, and I keep my computer in a fairly cool room, since I live in Minnesota. I am not sure if this cold is the reason, but when I turn it on it starts making quiet but distinct squeaking noises. I have also found that HWMonitor says that it is spinning at 60,000 rpm, but in reality it is spinning quite slow. Here's a screenshot of HWMonitor.

When I plugged my fans in, I plugged them directly into the motherboard. Was this correct? Does my motherboard control my fan speeds?

I fixed it. Turns out that the case has a fan controller on the front, and I had to plug the fans not into the motherboard, but into the provided cords so that the fan controller can control them. This has fixed both the squeaking and the 60,000 rpm. I just have to turn up the fan power when I want to play a game.
