So this MSI Z97S Krait motherboard has 5 fan slots which fits my build perfectly.
But 2 of them are specified as CPU Fan slot.
Is it possible to use those slots for normal 120mm case fans?
Or are they different somehow?
I have a Corsair H100i GTX water cooler so I won't use the slots for CPU cooling anyways...

Solution
Yes, you should be able to use these slots for normal fans, since people regularly replace the stock fans on coolers such as the cooler master hyper 212 with regular, quieter fans. All you have to do is plug them in, and if they are pwm controllable you will be able to control them at the BIOS, or through programs such as speedfan.

Example :

This guy replaced the stock cooler master fan on the hyper 212 with noctua ones, and still draws power for them through the CPU fan slot.

In short, the fan will act just like a regular fan.
