Lately i've had some problems with my computer temperatures. I never had a problem like this before, but i started playing "knights of the old republic" on my computer. When im a few hours into the game, my computer starts beeping once or twice. Then it starts beeping like crazy. I have a brand new P4 2.8c, with an Abit IS7 mobo, and i installed that Abit EQ program that tells u the temp of your cpu and the speeds of your fans. Everything was super high, computer wouldnt stop beeping until i restarted the computer.
After a little bit of snooping around, i was trying to figure out what the problem might've been. My only conclusion so far is that it might have something 2 do with the fans. I have the 1 cpu fan and NB fan connected to the mobo. My case also came with 4 fans, 1 ontop, 1 on the side, 2 in the front.
I looked in the program Abit EQ and it showed that i had the CPUFAN and the NBFAN properly installed. But it showed the "SYSFAN" off. Am i supposed to have a sysfan? How do i get a sysfan? I tried finding some info on this sysfan stuff, but didnt get much luck. Was hoping someone here could help me out. Same with the AUXFAN, not sure exactly wat it is, and im hoping someone here could explain these 2 things to me. That would be great.
These are the temps/speeds im getting:
CPU: 2300 RPM / 48.0C
NB: 4500 RPM
SYS: 28.0C
PWM: 37.5C
What temps are normal? and what temps are too high? And same with the fan speeds, whats normal? and whats too fast?
Also, from all this info, what do you guys think the problem might be? When my computer started to beep like crazy, i checked in Abit EQ, what the temps/speeds were, and the NB i saw was at like 11000 RPM's, and the SYS/PWM temps were above 100C. It changed quite dramatically and quickly and i have no clue why.
I'm sorry if these questions are really noobed out, but i could really use some of your guy's help.
