Hi

So I noticed after using PC for a couple of hours there was a noise coming from my PC. Having isolated this noise it is coming from the power supply where the fans starts doing a very rigid slow spinning. THe only way I can make noise go away is by restarting computer or by tilting the PC to its side and then putting it up right. Has anyone experience this?

Thanks

Hhhm well I built the PC literally a week ago, so I know its not an issue to do with age. Just strange how the noise only comes on after a few hours and how it dissapears when I tilt the PC to one side.

If I cant find an answer in the next hour I will return this and get a new power supply

I would return it anyway if its new.
What brand is the PSU?

Sound like you got a unit with a defective fan. Specifically a bad bearing. Once it heats up it no longer spins freely due to expansion of the materials. Turing on side changes axis, which apparently helps the fan...

Simply RMA for a new unit..... (which CX500 is a basic unit I see no reason to replace it. I have 3 CX600M's all running perfectly....)
