Hello,
So I'm having the "black Screen, sound looping & freezing problem"... ONLY when I play games... BF3, Grand theft auto, SHadow of Mordor etc etc etc...

today I downloaded and did find after runing FurMark I watched my video card go from 42c idle to 96c working then i stopped the test... I never heard the fan go up!?! but I was watching gpuz and gpu shark and even furmarks fan percentage and it was climbing as the temp went up.... BUT my fan never got any faster?!? I have my side case off i checked if its spinning and its working just fine...

My computer never froze on furmark but temp did rise alot and fan never got faster...

Im using OC GURU for increasing fan speed.

any suggestions?
Running WIN 7
FX-6300 Cpu
8GB HyperX DDR3
ECS A960M-M3
GTX 460 Green Card
Audigy Sound Card
RAIDMAX HYBRID 2 RX-630SS 630W

Again Im trying to figure out "black Screen, sound looping & freezing problem" which only happens in games...

I ran memtest for a few rounds go no flaws there.....

I downloaded furmark and GPUZ I Ran them today and watched as furmark started at 45c and just increased all the way to 96c the fan NEVER went faster.....sounds the same as it does at idle...

I then Downloaded OC GURU to turn up the fan speed it doesnt matter if its at 0 or 50 or 100% fan speed its always the same... I think this is my freezing problem... just not sure

another little piece of info this actually just started as soon as i added this card.... had a GTX 260 in it I had a spare 460 put it in... it started freezing when playing games.... I tryed re doing everything fresh win 7 install and all drivers and I still have the same problem....

The GTX 460 is a power hog. I have one too. It's just too much for that PoS RAIDMAX to handle.

Its a GTX 460 Green which uses half the wattage 60W vs 160W I only have one power plug on the card.... instead of 2 how can i test the PSU?

So I updated the bios on the GTX 460 I downloaded every different fan speed controller updated bios on motherboard I think the GPU is just faulty its stuck at 40% fan speed no matter what load its under I tryed furmark again just to see if it would rise I tryed bf3 nothing stays at 40%

This is how my case airflow is set up is set up.... Case is a NZXT Lexa Blackline

Any chance you would know why the cards fan is stuck at a certain speed????? I even tryed EVGA precision still wont unlock fan.... shows its turned up but I went down and checked never changed...

The speed control is mechanically broken, either on the wire, the onboard fan controller, or on the fan itself. No software or BIOS mod can change that.

Don't Fret. I have a workaround. Which cooler shroud is yours? Can you link me a pic of the card?

I wonder if it is the same as mine, the red/white one. My fan controller broke also but after that I took the whole thing apart and made my own custom air cooling solution using the stock heat sink. If yours is the same, I'll show you a pic of what I did to mine.

Heres some pics of the card pulled card out to throw some tuniq tx-2 paste on:
