i have Win 7 x64 and i've begun to experience this problem recently. when i turn my computer off it turns off normally but all the fans in the computer keep spinning (even the motherboard LEDs are on). this problem has started recently. i did not experience this earlier. also, this only happens sometimes, generally after playing graphic intensive games... so i have to hold the power button for 5 seconds to turn the spinning fans off too! is this okay or some problem has really crept in????

When you say you haven't experienced this earlier did something recently change with your system before this problem started to occur?

When your shutting down the system by choosing the "shut down" option through windows keep your monitor on and see if windows actually goes to shut down. See if there are any programs preventing windows from shutting down. If there are it might take a bit but will eventually prompt you telling you what program is preventing windows form shutting down.

yeah...

it sounds like you are not "shutting down" the computer. when shut down the motherboard will go cold (no lights on).

are you sure you are not entering "standby" or "sleep mode" ?

or as skaz stated.... some program is causing windows to take longer than normal to shutdown.
