I have the http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127745

MSI GTX 760 with the twin fans on it - recently one of the fans stopped spinning as fast (down to like 25 RPM or less) and the other one started doing that today - so the card is useless except for desktop applications atm - what options do I have that would avoid downtime because I run a gaming community and I can't exactly disappear for a couple weeks while they fix it... is there a do-it-yourself option? I just need to cool the card properly and a replacement fan would be the preferred option.

Obviously sending it back to the manufacturer isn't an option houldendub - i pretty much said so in the post

Sir Fridge... I am NOT looking for a CPU cooler im looking for a cooler that will work with my MSI GTX 760 which I listed at teh top - don't reply if you aren't willing to read the entire post please.

What PSU are you using, maybe the fans are not getting enough voltage? If you REALLY wanna try it, you could try to power up the fans manually (not recommended tho), either using an electronic power supply like this one: http://www.diarioelectronicohoy.com/imagenes/2012/05/Fuentes-de-alimentaci%C3%B3n-compactas1.jpg
And attacking cables to the fan's connector which Im guessing is this one: http://i.imgur.com/rlCONJU.jpg

Remove it from the pcb gently, and attach the cables. Make sure to put the V+ and ground in the correct slot, and dont let cables touch other as they will create a short circuit. I used this method to power up the fan of my old HD4650, but I dont recommend doing it unless you have some experience with electronics, I also didnt have a proper power supplier as the one in the picture and I used a cellphone charger modded like this: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-_9Ilfpih_Ic/UYxUoTfYXGI/AAAAAAAANMk/depGun9DNOE/s1600/FUENTE+DE+ENERGIA.jpg

Red is voltage or positive and black is ground or negative.

My recommended solution for your problem since you dont wanna send it to the manufacturer for a replacement, is that you buy a new GPU, and RMA the current one and sell it when it comes back on ebay or just SLI the hell out of them.

I have an 850 Watt PSU

it powers:

2 HDD (mechanical not ssd)
1 ODD (dvd drive)
CPU fan
rear case fan
PSU Fan(obviously)
and nothing else - seems like that shouldn't be too much for an 850 watt PSU to handle - are there any aftermarket coolers i can buy and use for this card or is it all proprietary?

You could try to get one of this: http://www.moddiy.com/products/4%252dPin-PWM-Fan-Connector-(Female)-to-4%252dPin-Mini-GPU-Fan-Connector-(Male).html , its a connector that will allow you to connect the fans to the motherboard fan header, you might want to try that before completely trying to replace the fans.

If you really wanna go ahead and mod your card, you might want to check this, its for another card, but the fans are almost the same, since it has the twin frozr http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=382423

here is also the aftermarket coolers you could try: http://www.arctic.ac/worldwide_en/products/cooling/vga.html

Hope this solves your question.

Edit: Im not sure if trying any of this could void your warranty, so do it at your own risk, the fans might not be the problems, could be the pcb that feeds the fans.
