[SOLVED] Fans running too fast

Hi guys,

I've done a new build yesterday and everything works just fine. I've stress tested and benchmarked everything and it's all coming back great but my fans seem to be going mad.

Temperature wise everything is fine but even when I'm not doing anything and my cpu is on about 40-45 degrees all my case fans and cooler fans are running at like 4500rpm

Is this normal?

I've got:
B450 Tomahawk max
Corsair H100x cpu cooler
AMD 3600x
And the fans are corsair af120s

Look in the bios for fan controll software,the Tomahawk should have that in there. Make your own fan curves as you want or choose a preset like "silent".

The "MSI Gaming App" will afaik (don't use it) have that ability too.

click the fan icon in it and see if you can set some lower fan speeds

Ive sorted it (I think!)

I had to use the pump fan header for one of the fans and it was just that one running at 100% all the time.

I changed that from pwm to dc and set it to a constant speed like the others. Now the only varying fans are the ones for my cpu cooler. That should be okay right?

Its certainly quieter haha

Yes that will be fine. Guess that the fan connected is a three pin fan. Anyway glad things work quietly for you now. 😁
