Far Cry 4 FPS lag?

I haven't been on the game in about 5 months. Today I decided to launch it back up. I am running it on max settings 1080p, and previously was able to achieve a constant 60 FPS with drops to only 50.

But now when I play, I am getting frames of a constant 30-40 with drops to 20 FPS on the same settings.
Other games run just fine. E.g. Crysis 3, Witcher, etc

Is there anything I need to update? I am playing offline via Uplay, and haven't updated FC4 in a long time. Is that an issue?

I've already defragged my HDD, scanned for malware, cleared registry, etc, etc, etc.

Any replies are much appreciated.

Updated drivers, or tried beta drivers perhaps?

Cleaned the GPU of any dust/hair?

Letting Far Cry update might be useful, I don't really follow the patch logs, but i'm sure there will be some performance tweaks/optimizations with later versions.

After an hour of updating drivers, rolling back drivers, adjusting settings, google searching, I finally fixed it.

I just realized that I was on maximum settings, lol. I had my TXAA turned to 4x.

I have no idea who turned that on. It was always on SMAA

Sorry for my ignorance. I was beginning to suspect dust building up ih the PC.
But it was just my pure ignorance that was building up. XD
