I'm having "speed" [from speedof.me] issue with my work computer at home, hardwired. I have a RTN-66U router (with QOS set recently in an effort to fix this issue). I have run malwarebytes, checked network adapter driver - no update needed, and system mechanic to try to fix this - no improvement. Work computer = Intel i7-4770 @3.5GHz, Windows 10, 32GIG RAM, static IP. I plugged into directly my router - same speeds - no improvement. Replaced cable between router and switch - no improvement. Replaced cable between switch and work computer - no improvement.
I am running a JGS524E gigabit switch between my router and work computer. I have set those ports to 1000MB. I plugged a 3 year old laptop into an open port on my switch [where my work computer is connected] and got 90Mbps on speedof.me on that laptop.
I have run speedtest.net and got 92 down and 6 up on my culprit work computer. But I get "more than occasional" choppy connectivity in google hangouts and feel the speed test in speedof.me is an "indication" that there is a " browser based connectivity" problem?
My wife's gaming computer gets 122 Mbps on my same network on speedof.me. I've got about 10 hours into trying this-n-that to increase my performance on speedof.me.
Thanks for any help. Thoughts?
