Hello
i'm looking for a fast drive to rip my old DVD collection to my computer.
What would i be looking at? does USB 3 make a difference?
i know that USB 3 is better at transferring data but if the reading speed isnt allowing some stream of data then it wouldn't matter i guess?

Solution
DVD drives will typically achieve 16x read speeds on DVDs. This corresponds to an theoretical maximum of 21500 KB/s. As USB 2.0 can theoretically transfer almost three times as much, so USB 3.0 should be giving you little to no benefit.
