This may be a very silly question but I know very little about computers,
when I first turn on my computer a black screen tells me that my fast track
contoller is not installed or something like that, or that the BIOS is not
connected. Could someone please tell me what that means and if it effects the
way my computer runs. Thankyou so much for any assistance.

You need to tell us exactly what the message says.

As Ted says, more info would be helpful. Off the top of my head, it sounds
like your system has an add-on controller that it isn't completely
installed and configured. If you're not using it, it's okay to ignore the
message. If you're using it... well, you would notice more problems than
just an error message.
