faster boot times in Win 7 with SSD

Just wondering how to optimize Windows 7 for fastest boot times with an SSD? I originally had Superfetch and Prefetch turned off, but I turned them on to see if it made any difference. It didn't seem to do much, but boot up seemed slightly longer. I turned these feature back off and results for a boot were:

On: about 50s

Off: about 30s

This is total time from power on until desktop ready.

Any other suggestions to get faster boots? I'm not really complaining now, but I thought the SSD would make things boot even quicker. Maybe this is just normal for an older PC?

Specs:
Dell Studio 540s
Win7 64-bit
8 GB RAM

My board only has SATA2, and I'm running in RAID mode, since the only choices in BIOS are ATA or RAID. When it first starts, I notice something about Intel Rapid Storage flash, but it's too fast to read. I only have 4 things in the startup menu in msconfig: Windows, Panda AV, Dell Dock and my Video LUT loader.

RAID typically slows computers down.

EDIT: Unless your talking about striping, but even then, it slows down bootup. Your computer also seems pretty old, might consider upgrading if it becomes too much of a issue.

Thanks for the info. No striping. In fact, I don't know much about RAID, but it seems to be the only way to get AHCI enabled on this Dell PC. I just have the one drive connected now. I got this computer back in 2008, so yeah, it's a bit old, haha. Before getting the new SSD, it was taking minutes to boot up, so I'm pretty happy for now. I cut down on the startup programs, set a static IP and tried a few other tweaks to speed up the boot process. Of course, the new drive was a big help. I'm sure an upgrade will be happening in the future =) I was just curious about typical startup times for older PCs with upgraded hard drives.

30 seconds is really good in your situation. I've got a computer thats less than a year old and it boots in 10 seconds, so even with the newer components you aren't going to get much faster than that.
