I have a system that will only let me add a pci card. What's the
fastest Ati PCI graphics card I can get for my system ? Thanks.

A friend of mine in the same boat just got one of these:
http://tinyurl.com/28rog and he's been pretty happy with it.

Try looking for a Radeon 9100 64Mb or 128Mb PCI card. They're a decent
DX8.1 card....same R200 GPU as the 8500 series ( 2 textures processed per
cycle compared to 1 per cycle in the 9000/9200 series R250) They can stll
be found new some places for $59 as well as Ebay (where they go for a lot
more)

9200 is about it.... I think the Nvidia 5200 PCI is faster thou, for
the same price.

None of them are good enough for modern games.

By using HTML.

You just did the same, which is why your post is 3 times the size it should
be, and looks awful in outlook express.

Coming from someone who probably didn't agree with removing saddam
hussain from power in the first place... "We can't let America Remove
saddam !! Saddam hasn't done anything wrong to his people and he's not
a threat!!"

Lordy, lordy, I can't even come to a videocard newsgroup forum without
someone shoving political propoganda down my throat via signatures at
the end of their active posts. If I wanted that, I'd visit a Political
newsgroup, not a videocard forum.

So YOU decide that sigs are out of bounds? I also say you are a Troll. If
you have nothing to contribute to a poster then mind your own business and
leave good people alone. We don't want children like you around.

No, AntiSam. Seems more likely to me that seeing as i'm the
"stranger", I'm not allowed to have an opinion. Let alone one that you
don't like. Amazing how the internet Empowers small people like you
who otherwise have no power. Rule over your little kingdom, AntiSam.
All I ever wanted was to find out the right PCI card to buy. I guess
it's MY BAD if I don't like recieving a political propoganda message
integrated into an otherwise genuine bit of advice.

Let's see. Darthy add the sig which you Can't tell me isn't designed
as a FLAME-BAIT. It's purpose is to cause a reaction. That's troll
behavior to me.
I reacted in an OK manner. Then Soldier, spying an opening, baited me
with an insult hoping for a reaction. Once again, trollish behavior. I
reacted badly in the first paragraph, but tried to recoup in the
second paragraph. You, now, disagreeing with my opinion, but agreeing
POlitically with the other two, see me as the only troll here. This
doesn't suprise me. You may or may not be a troll, but darthy and
soldier seemed to be from my pov. I hope you can begin to see things
from my pov a little better now. I came here only wanting computer
advise, not expecting to be BAITED into a trap. Oh well, my mistake.
I'll be more aware next time.

I see no more reason for this thread to continue any longer, quite
frankly. Sorry to all of you who don't engage in this activity to have
to had witness this.

FAke ? You mean like hillary clinton ? I think it takes 3 months of
"property ownership" or residence of some kind to be considered a
citizen of new york, and to run for office. Hillary aquired residence
there just 3 months or so before running. Just barely enough to be
Legally permitted to run for office. Now are you gonna tell me that
Hillary's not an implant ? She's as fake as the overpriced NY Yankee's
cap on her bulbous head. No-one believed she was a real new yorker
when she ran. Everyone knew she was an implant. Didn't sway the vote
any though, sadly.

over the ati radeon 9100 pci 128mb ?

You have ever right to put a political message in your sig. I have every
right to think poorly of you because you do and to express that viewpoint.
See how it works now? Or are you one of those idiots who believes that
freedom of speech really means the freedom to agree with _you_ and that any
dissenting view or suggestion that perhaps the politics should be saved
until after dinner is an attempt at censorship?

Any one considering that fx 5200/5200ultra, 9200se/9200/9200pro are any
faster than 9100/8500 are seriously mistaken.

5200 do however provide some SLOW DX9 hw-level support, so that some of
those nvidia and Ati demoes can be run on them. While 8500/9100/9200 are all
DX8.1.

Any DX9 game, need much more power than these cards can provide.

Are there games yet that require cards which are fully DX9 compliant and not

No, they just SUPPORT DX9, not require it. There are however many games that
require a DX8 compliant card, i.e shader support in order to run. That's why
R200 gpu is still a worthy thing..

I would choose it over the 9100. I've worked with many of those
cards. The 5200PCI rocks... for a low-end card that is.
