For my new build, I was planning on using 2 Samsung 840 Pro 256GB in raid 0, which is about $400, but I wonder, would it be faster to use 4 PNY XLR8 240GB SSD's in RAID 0, which would be about the same price? I have enough SATA 6Gb/s ports, and it wouldn't change the budget so it seems like a viable option

Also, the mushkin Chronos, Adata SP600, and Crucial M500 are all at that same price point, so it wouldn't necessarily need to be the PNY

first thigns first tomshardware did a test and in regular use their is no perciviable benifit to puting ssd in raid 0 second i wouldnt go with more than 2 ssd in raid 0 as then if a single ssd has a issue all your data is lost and while ssd are reliable with 4 of them falure is still likely
