Hi all,
I'm looking to build (or buy assembled) the fastest workstation possible for £1200 (I'm in the UK). It will be used for processing UAV imagery with Pix4D. So, CPU speed is the most important thing, with single thread speed being more important than number of cores (though the latter is helpful). Thinking Ryzen 7 if I can fit it under budget. I could live with 64 GB RAM, but 128 GB would be ideal. 1TB SSD would do it for storage, and I won't really need a graphics card (can just use one laying around work here). I'd be happy to go with used/refurbished stuff. Hoping someone here might be able to point me in a good direction? Many thanks in advance...

UK-based company PC Specialist might be a consideration for you. I've used them before for building computers for clients and have always been impressed with them and their value for money.

A Ryzen 7 3800XT (with a base clock speed of 3.9 GHz ) PC with your ideal specifications will be £1,507.00 (or £1,183.00 for 64 GB of RAM). Note that this CPU doesn't have integrated graphics, so if you're going to be using your own then select "I already have a graphics card".

Here's the link to their "AMD® RYZEN EXTREME COMPUTERS " page where you can tweak the default options to your liking. Note that, depending on your graphics card, you may want to upgrade the default 350W power supply to something better.
