tbh i don't mind them pushing it back... i wasn't really interested in it to much, its not like i dont want the game its just theres so many good games for 2011!

I don't mind the pushback at all. I'm so used to Blizzard and Valves "It'll be done when it's done" mentality, that I'd rather wait way longer for a game as long as it was done right. Too many developers/publishers feel tied to their release dates, I'd rather see more quality games and less releases.

the first was crap anyway and couldnt be bothered playing all the way through the game, too boring, so i didnt bother playing the second and am not going to be playing the 3rd unless the game is significantly different.

Wow. I've been reading Tom's for years and this drivel finally forced me to register. To say you didn't enjoy it is fine. To say it is a crap game is crazy. It had excellent graphics, ground-breaking AI, and pushed the hardware boundaries in much the same way Crysis did when it came out. The multiplayer was actually quite a bit of fun though few people had the rig to run it until it was too late.

F.E.A.R. 2 was a disappointment. Numbed graphics, contrived scares and a rather idiotic direction to the story. I hope that F.3.A.R. doesn't do that and lives up to the name of its grandfather.

I quit F.E.A.R. 2 shortly after starting. I couldn't get past the part when the little girl latches on to you and STARTS EATING YOU with a freaking sign on the bottom of the screen says 'UNLATCH' or something, but there IS NO UNLATCH BUTTON. FFS. Not fun.

FEAR 2 had it's sucky moments, but it still was great, and getting to know better why Alma is so pissed was really great, it sort of made me understand her. But the damn quicktime events dragged ass.

But FEAR 3 looks more action than horror, and that is BAD. Even though you were practically invincible in FEAR 2, I still was scared on almost every encounter, the most memorable being the invisible assassin's in the big reactor room before you got to the amplifier, you were in this humongous room, and then, while you're doing your thing, someone kicks your ass and runs away.

FEAR 1 was a classic. One of the best FPS ever made, concentrating on close quarter combat and destruction. The second one was a console port nightmare. Pure garbage. Glowing highlighted enemies on slo mo, stupid AI, ridiculously easy, no particle effects, no physics, no pc support, poor pacing, no mouse support. Just ruined the franchise. Monolith lost all credibility with pc gamers after that trash.

F.E.A.R. 2 wasn't that bad. Most of you are just whiny haters because they semi-consolized the series at that point. I can sympathize with your console hate, but be realistic. For a FPS, it was a decent game.

The first Fear was a breakthrough in AI not sure what iam2thecrowe is talking about. The second Fear is what happens when you have a great product that gets taken overy buy a corporate behemoth,
Fear 3 will be nothing short of a game.... nothing good nothing great. and a whole lot of crap.
very sad. the first fear is still a great game.

The first FEAR was so brilliant in every aspect. It was scary and hell I even watched YouTube to check the walkthroughs and check the scenes with Alma and get prepared for them. The guns were balanced so beautifully and the sheer number of custom maps and mods created by the fans are incredible. My old community even made custom AI maps which are essentially player made campaign levels. The multiplayer is free and I suggest those of you who are bored to try it out - there are still a respectable number of people playing. The sequel, on the other hand was a greater shooter in it's own respect, however as a horror shooter it was no where near as entertaining. More people play the first game than the second anyway. I just hope FEAR 3 brings back the features which made the first title so amazing.

FEAR 3 pretty much read a large group including my own of, "When will games be including co-op as a secondary feature?" Although I never actually wanted co-op for a FEAR game, it might show that any game could actually put co-op features in their games without ruining it. If you don't want to play with a friend, then you can simply play solo.
I hope they polish the Ai more than anything, although FEAR 2s' graphics were good, it didn't bring any new elements from the first other then a graphics update so newer consoles could shine using it. For pc gamers, the game looked good, even on lower end games; saying that though, FEAR looks great on most computers nowadays even on low end ones.
