I'm coming from a long line of AMD builds, so this is my first intel setup in about 10 years. I threw this guy together, so firstly, I wanted to make sure the specs don't raise any red flags.

Corsair Carbide SPEC-ALPHA Case
EVGA SuperNOVA 750 G1 80+ GOLD 750W
Intel I7-6700k
ASUS ROG Z170 Express Maximus VIII Hero Mobo
32gb G-Skill Ripjaws DDR4
OCZ RD400 512gb M.2 PCIe ssd
Samsung 840 Evo 500 (512?) gb ssd
Windows 10 Pro
Corsair H100i Liquid Cooler
6x Cougar HDB 120mm fans (2 front intake, 2 top/back exhaust, 2 on h100i radiator)
Asus Strix GTX 970 (Pulled from my last build)

Does everything check out? If there were any changes that you would make, what would they be?

Also, I an currently running 2x 34'' LG Ultrawide monitors @ 1080p. Is there any real benefit to upgrading the gpu to a 1070 (or something else?)

I do some moderate gaming, but it's mostly stuff like DayZ and Company of Heroes.

Thank you for your time, you guys always give the most sound advice.

Yes, there is a benefit from upgrading. For now, you will get smoother frame rates. Those ultra wide monitors need a lot of power to push those pixels. The 1070 will be able to deliver with ease. But everything else looks good.

not sure you need a 6700k

or 32gb ram

m2 drives although a lot faster than a 2.5 ssd wont seem much faster in real life use as a good ssd is so fast any way

its only when you have another m2 or a ssd raid array that m2 drives really show off--reading/writing between them will slaughter a ssd

the 850 evo is the normal choice for a ssd

not sure you would need a 1070 but never tried running 2 monitors on my gtx970

you want the g2 psu not g1 far as i remember the g2 is far superior

I know the i7 is more than I need as of right now, but I always try to future proof when I build.

As far as the g1 psu, what makes the g2 superior? Is the g1 considered crap?
