Hello,

Would like to get some thoughts/feedback on a new pc that I'm building. It will be used mostly for gaming.

I will be reusing a couple of parts from my previous i7 930 build such as the monitor, keyboard etc.

Already own:
Monitor: ASUS VG248QE
Keyboard: Logitech G15
Mouse: Logitech G400
HDD: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB

New build:
CPU: i5 4690K (Might overclock a bit if required further down the road)
CPU cooler:Cooler Master Hyper TX3
Motherboard: Asus SABERTOOTH Z97 MARK2
RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1866 Memory (Max the Mobo supports and also heard that faster frequency only has diminishing returns)
GPU: Asus GeForce GTX 970 4GB STRIX
Boot drive: Samsung 850 Pro Series 256GB
Storage HDD: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB
Power Supply: SeaSonic 750W 80+ Gold X-Series (Picked 750W as I might add another 970 card in the future for SLI)
Case: Cooler Master 690 III ATX Mid Tower Case.

Some questions:
Are there any compatibility issues with the new build? Also, as I already have the Asus monitor, I will be sticking to 1080p for a while. Will the Strix 970 hold out for games with max settings giving decent fps?

Solution
No issues, but I would make some changes. Here is what I would consider if I were you. Better cooling, larger capacity SSD, PSU with a 10yr warranty. THG recommended motherboard. Less expensive, but still good, ram.

Did think about picking up the Hyper 212 Evo, but heard about compatibility issues with this particular motherboard. Not really sure about that though.

Thank you for the response. Those look good, but I apologize as I forgot to mention that some of the parts are not easily available in my country (India) and I would have to import them, thus increasing the cost and no warranty coverage.
