Question Feedback on New PC Build

My current PC breathed its last earlier this week. While I could probably get it up and running again, it is outdated enough that its not really worth the time/money investment over building a new PC. However, it has been over 10 years since my last build so I'm a little rusty and would appreciate any feedback on my component list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/kWXgnt. I'm looking to build a mid-range gaming PC that will last several years with some upgrades. I am planning on reusing some of my existing SSDs and HDDs. My budget is ~$1000 though I could be persuaded to go a little higher if necessary. My three main questions are:

(1) Am I likely to face compatibility issues with reusing my GPU? It's performance is pretty equivalent to, or slightly better than, a modern budget GPU. I don't believe that the hardware failure in my current rig is related to a GPU problem; that said, I can't be 100% sure and I'd really like to wait for the GPU market to be a little less crazy before buying a new one. One option is to go for for an i5-12400 instead of an i5-12400F in case I need to run integrated graphics in the short term.

(2) Have I appropriately sized my PSU for future upgradability?

(3) Am I overdoing it on the CPU cooler? I am not planning on overclocking but I do value low noise levels since my tower is at head level.

Good choice on motherboard assuming it has all the connection points you are likely to need in the next few years.

Good choice on PSU.

Maybe overkill on the Noctua. You could move down a notch to a single tower like the U14 and save a few bucks.

Is the Samsung 970 Evo Plus any cheaper where you are?

Don't know about the case, but that is highly personal. Is it wide enough for your cooler choice?

Hey there,

Your first build would be my preference. Very solid choices. The PSU is a quality PSU made with high end Jap capacitors. Comes with a 7 year warranty. The you don't really need a 750w for this build. Even a 650 would give you wriggle room for more power hungry parts.

I don't think changing down the Noctua for cooling reasons is a good idea. Whilst the 12400 isn't exactly a power sucking beast, it can take up to 117w, so with a weaker cooler your CPU will naturally be hotter, and thus causing higher fan speed, and potential throttling. Better the CPU temps be cooler than hotter IMO

The GPU is the weak link, but you know that. You have a solid base there though. Not much I'd change.

Nice build ^^ You can get by with a less expensive cooler for that cpu as it doesn't put out much heat.
