[SOLVED] Field connector

Hi,

So I’ve used a field connector for my solid network cable.
But i had to wrap the orange pair and blue pair around the other two pairs.
Can this cause any interference?

Test the performance, if it is good, then you are fine. If not, get a shielded cable.

Speed seems to be fine, can’t say anything about stability.
Other side is straight forward for each pair.

Speed and stability are the same thing with IP Protocol. If the data is bad it gets re-sent, which reduces bandwidth. If you are looking at a 1Gbps connection and you are getting nearly that under test conditions, it is fine.

When you are home user all you can do is try the best you can. The meters that actually test cables to see if they can actually pass the tests to certify a cable are even too expensive for a electrician whose primary installs are not low voltage stuff.

That looks like it is cat6a cable. That divider just makes things harder to deal with and is not very important unless you are running 10gbit cables. Even if you are running cat6a jacks you can't do much better than you have done. You see much much worse photos posted here.

Exactly - I have a €10,- cable tester to see if all pins are connected, that was fine, but not saying much.

I’ve been using a normal utp CAT.6 cable.

I was thinking, maybe it was a better solution to flip the cable and let each pair cross by a X pattern, like this

But yeah… If it doesn’t make any sense, I’ll just leave it as it is.

I would just leave it. Most cable does not have the plastic spacer and work perfectly fine and easily passes certification meter tests.
