Figuring out what more i need

So i am planning to buy a gtx 1050 ti and was wondering what I would need extra in terms of power supply and stuff. Not really that good i

Impossible to say without knowing what you currently have (in regards to the model # of your current power supply).

It's borderline. I'd recommend a replacement, but your current would probably work.

I have an i7 4790 and 8gb ram. Would getting 400 or 450 w be good

A quality (Antec, Seasonic, FSP, PC Power and Cooling) 450 watt power supply would be my recommendation. I'd also make sure it has at least 1 PCIE 6-pin power connector (unlikely it won't but just make sure).
