File Explorer -- Sort By Date Not Working Properly?

I just downloaded some compressed video files, and when I went to the Downloads folder to find them, I hit the sort by date option so they would be right at the top. But what I found was that File Explorer in Windows 10 didn't sort them properly.

Notice that in the screenshot, the folders at the top include several folders from 2014, and there's a folder from 10-21-15 a little over halfway down the list.

That tells me it is not sorting by type AND date, since there is a separation of folders within the sorting option in question. I shuffled the sort options several times, but it always went back to this order.

Has anyone else had trouble sorting items like this in Windows 10?

On a side note, I would have inserted that image in-line, but I can't figure out if there's a way to do that on this forum. Is there a simple way to do so?

I just noticed that I have a total of 4 zipped folders in my downloads folder. None of them are next to one another when sorted by date, and one of them is with the regular folders when sorted by date.

Thanks for the suggestion. If I get fed up enough over this and it doesn't eventually fix itself via an update or such, I'll give that a try. But at the end of the day, I hate having things not work properly and just letting it go. Whenever possible, I like to fix the problem and then move forward. 😉
