File not found:mouse_cursor.p3d. simpsons hit and run

Hi so i installed a free version of Simpsons hit and run off mega and when i go to open the game it comes up with this error: mouse_cursor.p3d. I have this file installed in the files for the game but it is still coming up with this error. I know this is a REALLY old game but i want my childhood back. If anyone knows how to fix this it would be helpful. I'm on windows 8.1.

Right click it and run in compatibility mode for windows 98. Also, you may have just got a bad copy.

Nope i still get the error message.

You may be SOL then. Some old games won't run with a computer with more than 2GB of ram, or modern hardware.
Edit: But more likely, you got a bad copy of the game.
