I am working with 2 computers with identical configurations:

Windows XP Pro SP2
Applications are the same
Services Settings are the same
No Anti-Virus installed
No Firewalls
Identical Users and Passwords are installed on both

For testing, these are isolated systems connected via Ethernet and a switch
only to each other. File Sharing is set and active. Microsoft Firewall is
turned off. No other Firewalls or Anti-Virus running.

When trying to share files I am getting "CPUx is not accessible, you may not
have rights to view this computer. The Server could not be found.". Sharing
on both computers worked fine under SP1, then upgraded them to SP2 and
sharing stopped. The Shared Folder is not accessible either.

Any ideas out there??

TIA

John

I should have mentioned that Simple Sharing is off and all users have been
granted access and NTFS Security rights to the folders.

John I had a similar error message and got round it by giving each
computer the same password. Then I set up a new user account on
each computer, with the same *new* password for the new account and
it works beautifully
for file sharing. My main computer having set up a "virtual" 'z'
drive!

I should mention that I have SP2 installed on the main computer only
as yet but it's not interfering with the other one and file sharing.
