Files and folders on USB stick have become shortcuts

I've this problem from one of the computers at school and I can't get rid of it. When I open the folders, they open in new windows and if I try deleting them, they appear again once I refresh.

I've already tried formatting the stick and also this http://www.asoftech.com/articles/file-folder-shortcut-recover.html but nothing worked. I want to reinstall windows but I doubt it will fix it.

What do?

Strange, try to FULL format it, not quick.

It should work.

This happens only with the stick or with hard drives as well?

Did it, after that I put some files on it, and when I tried it the next day there were shortcuts again.
Only with the stick.

For sure its a windows problem try looking at folder options.
U use a mainstream usb like sandisk?
