files are not showing

i cannot see my folders and files in my internal hard disk e drive but it is showing in properties that data is there but i cant see anything. it is showing folder is empty.i dont know what to do. please please help me.

Hello loku,

Try this 1.

Check whether the files are not in hidden mode. Follow the following steps.

Step 1:

Click on the below link and download the file "AutorunExterminator"

http://en.kioskea.net/download/download-11613-autorun-exterminator

Extract it --> Double-click on "AutorunExterminator" --> Plug your memory card

now.

This will remove the autorun.inf files from your memory card and also from

the drives.

Step 2:

Click on "Start" -->Run --> type cmd and click on OK.

Here I assume your memory card drive as G

Enter this command.

attrib -h -r -s /s /d g:\*.*

You can copy the above command --> Right-click in the Command Prompt and

paste it.

Note : Replace the letter g with your memory card letter.

Now check for your files in your card.

Step 3:

After that, download the Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from the below link

http://en.kioskea.net/download/download-105-malwarebytes-anti-malware

Update it --> Perform "Full Scan"

Note : Default selected option is "Quick Scan".

Hi there loku,

Your data may be hidden for some reason. You can just unhide it through Command Prompt. Check this thread out: http://en.kioskea.net/forum/affich-501267-all-folders-in-external-hard-drive-are-hidden
After that, you can scan your drive with some anti-virus/malware tool. Another thing you can do is to test it with some brand specific HDD testing tool. The results will show whether there is something wrong with the drive.

helo thanks for ur reply i has done what you told but in command prompt when i type the command u told and click enter it is coming like "the target of the symbolic link
E:\......\(my folder name) does not exist like that it is coming to all my folders which are in my drive. i cant understand what it is. i has done ur autorun exterminator step also but it doesnt work.and i has an antivirus software also and it is updated but it doesnt detect any malware or virus int that. so please pls help me in solving this problem

Not sure how your hidden files are configured but try this anyway:

1. Open My Computer
2. On the top left click 'Organize'
3. Click 'Folder and search options'
4. Click the 'view' tab
5. Find the section titled 'Hidden files and folders'
6. Click the radio button next to 'Show hidden, files, folders, and drives'
7. Check to see if files are in flash drive

or
SAFE MODE WITH COMMAND PROMPT ( well it is not necessary but you should ), goto command prompt and write these commands.

1. dir/ah ( list all hidden file/dir )
2. attrib -h -s -r -a *.* ( will make all of your file/dir visible )

i had done this also but in command box it is showing that the files which are there it is showing like "the file doesn't exist" and i had installed recuva software and recovered but my files are not there some other files are there and i have to tell that my files doesnt deleted. it is not showing thats'it.ok... so pls tell me another definite technique to get solve this problem
