Question Files missing

So I have an SSD as my C drive with my windows and a D drive with most of my files with my games. I realised today that 600gb of my files are gone for some reason. I went into disk management and checked it twice (Total:1000gb Free: 970gb). I didn't have any issues when I turned my computer off last time I used it. Didn't shut my pc down while it was installing something. Whats going on?

I realized I just answered another post (just seconds ago) that had similar problems.

Only assumtion is that it is either a malware infection OR that MS have had a bad update once again.
