I have had problems putting files of a curtain size and over onto my seagate hard drive, I then got told i needed to reboot it, which I did and now the files go on there with no problems. However, I have now gone and plugged it into my TV and the device shows up but no files on the device…. I have checked that the files are on there which they are. HELP! I have no idea why it won't work and seem to be a novis with this stuff. I have a seagate go flex is that is any help

Mac shouldnt be the prob. As long as what youre trying to play is supported by the TV. If it can upgraded with firmware update it.

According to the manual you can use FAT32 or NTFS. But it has to be in windows

Use only USB storage devices formatted with the Windows FAT32 or NTFS
file system.

I take it youre connecting the hdds to power??

For external USB HDDs, it is recommended that you use devices with a
rated voltage of less than 5 V and a rated current of less than 500 mA.

✎ It is recommended to use a USB hub or hard disk drive with power supplied.
(If the power supplied is not enough, the USB storage device may not be
detected properly.)

✎ It is recommended that you use USB memory sticks of 32 GB or less and USB
HDDs of 2 TB...
The TV had no problems reading them before i went and did the reboot thing on it… they are the same files that were on there before with the addition of one or two but the tv is not picking up any of the files..

Are any of the files over 4 GB??

Because if that hard drive is formatted in FAT32, it'll split the movie if it's over 4 GB. FAT32 only supports files up to 4 GB. Not over

The hdd needs to be formatted in NTFS. To support files over 4 GB in size. But then the TV would have to support devices or hard drives that have been formatted in FAT32 or NTFS to read it

✎ If a USB HDD with power-saving function does not work properly, turn the
power off and on. For more information, refer to the user manual of the USB
HDD.

✎ Data in USB storage device can be damaged so be sure to back up important
files to other devices. Data maintenance is the user's responsibility and the
manufacturer is not responsible for data loss.
