Files Saved are not available after computer is switched off then on.

When I save any document including videos,photos and audio files on my windows 7 pc and switch it off; the next time i switch it on I cant find the saved files. Somebody tell me what the problem is and most importantly what I need to do.

Where do you save them? Within your Document folder? Are you the only user on the PC?
