it should have 2x 1TB HDD raid 1

advices, suggestions needed - thanks f

I would do a 4 drive RAID 10 array instead of 2x RAID1. RAID 10 would make faster rebuilds and better performance.

Did this answer your question.

thanks, I'll consider this, just checked mobo and it should support raid 10 and has 6xsata... regarding to the performance, I think that bottleneck is gonna be 1gb network, or am I wrong?

and because am not HW nor linux expert, could anybody check this will work well?

you should be able to run Virtual Servers on it and do what you want to do. a SATA 2.0gbit will transfer at around 375 MB/SEC the network card is looking at 125MB/sec.... well to be honest i haven't real word tested a hard drive that will come close to a 375MB/SEC. infact i have a 5 SATA2.0 in raid 0 and am able to get low 300MB/sec. so 4 drives in raid 10 might not saturate your 1Gb network, its hard to tell.
