Final Component: RAM

Hi,

I've finally gotten almost everything I need for my Mid-range system... except for RAM. I have 4GB of 1333 RAM which I don't even know the manufacturer of since it's a second-hand system.

I have a budget of $70 left, and I can only choose between G.Skill and Corsair (those are the only two available in my area.) Looking to upgrade to 8GB (Dual Channel kit).

To give an idea, here is my component list:

Intel i5-3330 3.0Ghz
Asus H61M-E Mobo
Zotac GTX 950 Dual Fan OC 2GB DDR5
4GB 1333 RAM
160GB main drive
320GB secondary storage

I would look for an 8 GB kit of DDR3 1600 with the lowest case latency I could get. Either brand would be OK. If you are using an aftermarket CPU cooler, make sure that it won't interfere with the RAM if the RAM has tall heat spreaders.

Why would I get a CAS 8 over a 9? Is there a significant difference? Sorry, I'm not really familiar with the intricacies of RAM... Between the two RAM modules suggested so far, there is about a Php1,000 difference.

No not a noticeable difference , just spec wise a tad faster ,Bad Actor linked a great deal.

Thanks for clearing it up! Now all I need to worry about is transferring everything from the old case to the Cooler Master. I'm quite excited, as this will be my first "proper"gaming rig. Thanks again!
