Well i have being searching far and wide to find the best possible parts whilst sticking to a £600 budget and i think i have finished! Here is the finished parts list:

I have checked that all these parts are compatible but would just like someone to confirm this. I dont think im going to get much higher performance then this without spending more cash i opted for the cheaper case because i plan to upgrade that in the future and i think better components is primary. Id just like your views on this Rig and what you think it will run like 😀 and also if its worth the money!

P.S - I havnt read many good reviews about overclockers customer service so id also like your take on if i should go with Overclockers.co.uk for most my parts.

P.S.S - I do plan on overclocking the CPU and GPU so i hope i chose good ones to OC!

if you want to OC the GPU then you'll have to pay the extra for the 900mhz version because the 850mhz versions have the bad bin gpu's. And that Cooler won't OC that CPU very far, but Q9550's normally only get to 3.6-3,8ghz anyway.

You can also do a lot better for £600 for a gaming PC, even if it does include VAT.

edit: how about this for £600? it's on overclockers by the way.

XFX 4890 1GB
AMD P2 720 x3 BE - It will OC further than the Q9550 and it makes way for a better PSU.
PCP&C silencer 750w - So you can add a second card.
Biostar TA790GX - One of the best oc'ing AM2 motherboards you can buy.
Antec 300 - Cheap and gives you enough space to add another card and enough fans to cool them too.
OCZ Gold 2x2GB 1066mhz - AMD processors perform better with 1066mhz ram.
Titan Fenrir - 2nd best cooler you can buy, and best you can buy over here.
Scythe Kaze Jyuni 1900rpm - to replace the standard fan which comes with the Titan Fenrir, runs at 110cfm vs 78cfm of the stock fan.
Samsung TS-H493B DVD-ROM - this is self explanatory.
 
Yes thats a nice list Helloworld probley better then the one i had but i kinda tweeked it abit... i dont need a costly case and i think this £20 case should be fine and it has lots of fans so no problems there anyways heres the list:

Cheap and has one the the best GPU's out :) but i wont be OC if i get this setup due to the 600Watt PSU (i can always upgrade at a later date and the case aswell)

i hear 600watt should be enough to cope with the 4870x2?
 
^ that PSU won't cope with the 4870 X2 and the case won't keep it cool.

for £600 my list is probably going to be the best you can get, unless you can pay £15 more for a 940 BE but then you'd have to drop the cooler.
 
Forgot to say i already have a Phenom 9500 in my PC that i bought from a store would i be able to use that? or is it too weak? and if i could use it is it bound to the mobo in anyway because the PC is from a manufacturer?
 
the 9500 would bottleneck the X2 an awful lot and they have the TLB erratum error.

but you could use it I'm just suggesting you'd be in a better position if you went with my build, since 720 BE's out perform the phenom I quad's in even quad threaded tasks and you can add another 4890 down the line.

but i have a question, as i am using my old HDD and it is from a retail PC it has 2 partitions one is 455gb and the other is 10gb on the 10gb partition is the system restore for my old pc if i was to format the 455gb drive but not the 10gb and then use it in my new machine and install windows 7 will i be able to put it back into my old PC and use the restore incase something goes wrong?

that seems an awsome system and i plan to upgrade the Case, and cooler further along the line when they need to be upgraded :) also it looks like the mobo could last a long time due to it being AM3 compatible:) il just have to wait until they have it in stock! so please tell me which is better this one or the one just above.
 
so far theres 3 [ 0r 4?] final lists . Ordinarily Im hard to confuse but everyone is allowed an off day .


One thing no one has mentioned is the monitor resolution . Its pointless paying for a hugely powerful gfx card for a 19 inch monitor .
The monitor is always the first decision to make about a gaming build IMO
 
i was gona build the computer then buy a bigger monitor at a later date 0.o maybe i should get a bigger monitor and gradually build the pc instead of buying everything at once?
