alright rookie question as i finish up this purchase.

will all the power cords that go to the components come with the PSU? or each part? or is this something else I will need to buy seperate like the thermal compound? anything else?

The power cords come from the PSU and attach to the the components.
For instance, 20+4 pin main connector goes to motherboard.
The cables on your PSU are attached to it, with modular PSUs some or all of the cables are detached originally and then can be attached.

Additionally, the shipping should be the same if you buy it with 1 or 2 credit cards.

ok i got everything. im putting it all together and i have come across a snag. A BIG SNAG.

i have tried to attach the HSF to the CPU on the MOBO and it is WAY too tight. i cannot even FORCE the lock on the HSF on. and i feel like im going to break it. the paste is smeared on both the cpu and the hsf still....is that ok also? will it dry up and go bad in the short amount of time i have had it off (literally 15 minutes ago)

edit: just to clarify it will go on both anchors on the sides in the UNLOCK position and to get it to the lock position it has to be forced (enough the MOBO bends and twists the HSF/CPU connnection)
HELP?!?!?!?!?!?

mine scared me to i was hesitant to lock it in at first started looking through manuals and yada yada to make sure the lock arm was the right way. anyways it took alot of force with the stock cooler to lock on but all was well in the end. you should probably clean off the paste and redo it . if i understand right from all i read you dont want the heatsink lifted after pressing down the bead. that way you have a clean smear between the cpu and hs so theres no air pockets or debris

my comp will not start without taking off the HSF. its on really tight. i know its "supposed to be tight" but its to where when i try to latch it it slides to the side and squishes.

when i take off the HSF it just starts like normal and then the CPU overheats and it abruptly shuts off...

help? should i keep my tower on its side and just place the HS on it and not latch it? it works then...

what mobo and cpu did you get? maybe some odd chance you got bent clips on the heatsink? search google theres plenty about amd heatsinks being hard to latch and some tips to make it easier
