I just restarted and am suddenly a massive 3GB down on OS drive. Is there any way to see where it's gone?

It might have been the page file reservation. Before your last shut down there was a spike in RAM usage which prompted the page file to be enlarged. This happened after the restart.

Hmm yeah maybe, I guess it might be impossible to know exactly, it's no major concern I guess.. just would be interesting to know.

You can find out by filling up your RAM. The usage should stabilize at 80% or so and then the PF should start growing. You should see a change in C drive empty space.
