finding mac address using router

My lap was stolen by someone a week ago. I lodged a police complaint. They asking for a laptop's Mac address to trace it out. I have connected my laptop to a TP-LINK router. Is it possible to get Mac address through that router? Please explain me a step by step process.

Possibly if you had logging enabled on your router. Access the router and log in as admin. Then locate your system logs and look for the connect info from your last session connecting to the router.
