Hi everyone,
I need a build to do some number crunching and finite element analysis. The software ill be mostly using is ABAQUS.
The requirements listed on the site (http://www.3ds.com/support/certified-hardware/simulia-system-information/abaqus-612/system-requirements-for-abaqus-612-products/).
Case doesn't have to be fancy or anything since its going to be placed under the desk. I am probably going to need a minimum of 32GB of ram, was thinking about an i7-5820k? Not sure the number of cores matter here or the speed of each individual core? For the graphics card I dont think I will need a high end gaming graphics card (or will I? again no experience with requirements for finite element tasks!).
I am trying to convince my advisor that doing a custom build will be ALOT cheaper than going with the desktops offered by DELL (Such as the XPS Studio etc)
Your help is greatly appreciated.
