FIOS G1100 slow LAN speeds

Hi all,

I had upgraded my FIOS router from the old Actiontec router to the new FIOS Quantum router which is the G1100 hoping to get better performance. To my dismay, my LAN connection speeds in between machines halved, so they went from an average of 75-100 MB/s down to an average of 40-45 MB/s. I have the same setup with the ethernet cables and the gigabit switches, but the router is the only new thing.

Is there any way i can improve this, like is there something i could turn off within the router which could cause this speed issue? Thanks!

you should probably start off by contacting fios, as it is their network and equipment.

I did do that, but i wanted to ask here just to see if anyone had a similar problem.

when your ISP sends you a new modem, it needs to be provisioned so the modem knows what speeds you are paying for. If you already contacted FIOS, what was their response?

It's actually not the modem but the router that i'm referring to. The modem is a separate unit from the router. I have a call setup with them for later in the week, but form their end when i chatted, they said the outgoing and incoming connections are working as they should, but they said i need to speak with someone in regards to the internal connections.

ok, fios near me gives out combo router/modems, so most likely that router needs some configuring. but having looked at previous models, the settings can only be accessed by the ISP. Let me know how the service call goes.

Yea I'll keep you posted. I have a modem that's external from the unit which allows me to use any kind of router I want technically, even though they restrict you from activating their service unless you have one of their routers which is dumb. In any case I'll see what they say on Thursday and post back.
