Firefox is so slow/unusable

Downloaded it a long time ago and it was really slow, so I removed it. Downloaded it again several months later, and it's still very slow. I type one letter in the search bar and it locks up. That's pretty much how it was before, incredibly slow to do anything.

Retina MacBook Pro 15" Mid 2014
i7 2.5 GHz
16 GB RAM
GeForce 750M

EDIT: Seems to be working at the correct speed now. Does anyone know how all my bookmarks from Chrome are somehow here? There's also some add ons here too

Firefox will import settings from other browsers when installing.
