[citation][nom]DXrick[/nom]I tried FF 3, because IE 7 crashed a lot. FF is faster and never crashes. I only use IE now to run live update (for XP Pro).[/citation]
well you don't have to switch everytime you need to download something so freakin annoying and I7 is solid and does not crash

Ever since Firefox became a cute industry buzzword it was no better than IE. I discovered Opera 5 years ago and I haven't looked back since, I refuse to use FF and only use IE for websites that don't like Opera. (like my bank...how scary is that?)

If websites were coded properly, Opera would win the day but since M$ has forced IE into so many computers (brief moment of silence for Netscape...) web developers are forced to code badly to get IE to work for the majority of people.

Opera is darn fast!
Chrome started out being hacked the first week of it's release.
This made me decide to wait for an updated version.
LAter I didn't hear anything of them anymore, and left chrome for what it was, never really trying it out.
FireFox is still suffering from child deseases especially when combined with Flash.
It's only natural that IE fades while the rest rises!
About 10 years ago there was only internet Explorer and Netscape, and IE goes together with Windows,so naturally most beginners start with it, and only later switch over(when necessary).
It's major fall has been IE5, IE6, and IE7.
They always had a bigger memory footprint, pages loaded slower.. IE7 has improved though, and IE8 has even more!

I switched after seeing too many security updates for IE6 to Opera and later to FF;which is my favorite browser today.

1 percent drop for IE in a month??? Big Deal???

from my calculation, IE has about 67.55 months to go. That's five and a half years. Who knows what will happen in between. Maybe Microsoft will buy over Mozilla? Maybe Google will buy Mozilla? We all know that Google came up with Google video and when it wasnt that successful, it buys YouTube. :)

Five and a half years is a loooooong.. time.. haha

Firefox for me as it's updated far more frequently than IE and is far more stable. The add-ons are a great plus as they have enhanced surfing the internet far more than IE has ever done.

I pre-dominantly use Firefox and only use IE when there is a specific site that Firefox won't open. For example, being in the Navy, there are many DoD public websites that won't open in Firefox because it doesn't recognize their security certificates. IE works just fine. I use FF for everything else though. I think this article is a little misleading. IE7 has been around for a while now and new software usually gets attention. If IE8 comes out soon enough I'm sure a lot of people will "try it out" right away and you'll see a huge spike in downloads just like Chrome.

LOL @ all the burnt IE users that allowed a simple virus to fool them so now they are bitter and need to drink their FF Kool-Aid. Aw, let me wipe those tears off your face. I have beein using IE since it was released with no issues. The last time I got a virus through IE has been years ago.

I actualy installed FF and almost threw up a little. This program is sooooooooooooooooooooooo slow and requires third party add ons to match IE's functionality? LOL! I couldn't even do basic things like extract files from a temp directory. You actualy need an add-on for this.

Oh and guess what everyone? Microsoft got it right by embedding IE in Windows. I can just imagine still paying for Netscape like back in the days when it had the biggest market share.

IE works just fine if you are not an idiot.

Funny how Microsofts search engine, Messenger, Web Browser, etc fails when put up against others.. yet they're one of the largest software companies out there.

Its a matter of personal preference. IE is actually the slowest Web browser compared to Safari/Opera/FF, thats fact friend. IE needs additional programs to maintain its safety, thats a fact.

I use Opera. Why don't I use IE? Well, aside from the facts above, it just has a bad rep. I would give it another chance but its still slow.

Firefox for me, but I have nothing against the rest, because I have'nt tried them in a long time.

No need for IE - "IE Tab - an extension from Taiwan, features: Embedding Internet Explorer in tabs of Mozilla/Firefox..."

[citation][nom]juvealert[/nom]Good Riddance IE u have lost the web browser war !!!! You suck!!!thumbs up for fire fox[/citation]
Yeah, because now IE is only leading by 300%

Well, if IE8 is received like Vista, we'll be getting IE9 around 6 months later. If that doesn't work, there's always IE10 or IE-Ultra.....change a button: refresh. change the name: refresh.

I would like to see domain Group Policy support for other browsers. It's a pain to have to customize thousands of PCs browsers on one network when you can do it for IE using Group Policies...
