I'm glad they finally decided to revamp the look. It was looking REALLY dated before.

That said, I really wish they would allow me to put the refresh button back on the left next to the other navigation buttons where it belongs. I'm not sure where people started to think it was a good idea to put it on the opposite side. I guess I'll have to go searching for an extension to make that happen. I just don't like using more extensions than I have to. :-/

Either way, I think it's an improvement overall. Ctrl+R still works just fine. ;-)

seriously as other comments have said, change for the sake of change. it was perfect in firefox 17-ish. now its just bad.

palemoon is good replacement, but only available for windows platforms... sigh.

So it's still the slowest to load pics making you wait until they all load before you can access the page and if the pics refresh you have to wait until they all refresh before you can continue. Where? try Huffington Post main page.

Why are you on Huf post anyways?

Eh.... I've been using Nightly for awhile, so I've had this for a long while. It is a good improvement to Firefox but I really think that instead of changing the way Firefox looks, they need to focus on 'under the hood' speed improvements.

A failed attempt in being minimal thst results cheesy and cumbersome. I'd rather be hacked with ie than use this.

How? Explain to me how this is 'cheesy and cumbersome' in the slightest? I'd like some specifics before I am going to listen to someone who sounds butthurt that Firefox changed some of the graphical things.

They removed the Activity Indicator from version 29. As a result I removed version 29 from my system with reckless abandon. I'll stick with 28 until someone makes a decent replacement Activity Indicator (Throbber) add-on for 29 & later.

Stick to v28 or lower. 29 borked all my tabs etc (they were there but none worked, just dead) among other issues. I use FIREFOX because I hate CHROME. No 29 for me after a restore point fixed it. If firefox intends to look like chrome and get as stupid as it is (can't customize much of anything, browser for newbs IMHO, like they win8'ed it so badly for ignorant/stupid users that a tech guy can't work with it or change anything), then I will be hanging on to v28 or lower for a long time or just try out Opera again I guess. Chrome/IE are useless to me.

Most people don't spend 3 hours messing with there browser. You install chrome and a few addons like ABP or whatever else you need and your done. Just because people have other things to do with there life does not mean they are "Newbs".

If you really want to swing your l33t haxor shlong around, code your own browser.

I just upgraded to 29 and although it might take a few days I'll get used to it. Tabs look much better now, especially how the inactive ones fade out.

How do you get options=l33t? Most people get by browsing, getting email, playing casual games etc. Does that mean all of us shouldn't be allowed to have more options while using our PC? If that's enough for you, I shouldn't be allowed to run Adobe Photoshop etc because most people don't want to learn 100hrs of photoshop to get some skills in it? REAL games shouldn't exist because most people just play casual crap? Most people can't afford a Veyron, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't exist because of it. Most people don't modify their browser for 3hrs, so to you that means they shouldn't be able to ever try? What part of CHOICE are you not getting here?

Nothing l33t about my browsing skills and I didn't say that so why do you jump to that conclusion? I want the option to make changes so I'm l33t? BTW I don't spend hours modifying my browser (pull 3hrs out of thin air or what?). But when I want or NEED to I can do whatever I want to firefox generally speaking, pretty much in about:config. I don't run more than a dozen plugins/addons (counted I have 9 extensions+5 plugins and 3 extensions are all ABP related) but many of those are like flash, shockwave, java, silverlight, vlc, pdf etc, so things everyone needs to run the web most are not oddball addons as you seem to be suggesting. I don't call power users L33T either, they're just not newbs. Chrome is dumbed down period. It's one thing to pick options by default you think I want. It's a whole other issue when you BLOCK me from changing any of those settings as if you always know best for me. The term NEWB means I think you can actually learn if desired, kind of like being ignorant (not stupid), you just prefer not to learn and take what they give you. I'm a car NEWB for instance, by choice and I'm not offended by being called that. L33T to me means forget it dude, there's no chance for you to get this as it's above your IQ etc 😉 I'm never going to be a l33t pro football player, it's just not in my skill set and never will be. Accepting a browser that allows basically zero changes (compared to firefox/opera anyway), is admitting you want to STAY a newb as well. I'm advocating us all getting what we want (only comes if we can change it), but you think everyone should have what you like and just be ok with it.

Not quite sure how you can figure out how much time I have spent on changing my browser or how to get from 'I like to be able to make changes' to 'you have nothing to do with your life'...LOL. Besides ABP I haven't made changes to my browser in ages, are you not aware you do this usually ONCE? You keep taking the pill they tell you to take like a good little boy (assuming you're a dude, do chicks use words like schlong? Surely a CHICK would at least know how to spell it?), I'll keep asking what my options are and making up my own mind. :) It's not about being l33t, it's about not being spoon fed somebody else's idea of what I should see, think, feel etc. No thanks. You may think one size fits all, but I do not. You can have your newb browser that is dumbed down, just keep your hands off mine thanks. I don't have a problem with someone picking defaults for most users, the problem is taking those and foisting them on everyone which is what you're saying is OK.

I have a problem being spoon fed choices that I usually don't like for the sake of the lazy (they aren't aimed at guys like me, rather aimed at people who don't want to learn anything). I have no problem taking a bit of time learning something new on a PC if it will make my time on them more enjoyable or raise my performance levels in whatever I'm doing on them. I hope you don't take this lackadaisical approach to your whole life as that would mean you're quite likely wasting yours 😉 Most of the changes I make to things on a PC are because I want MORE time in my life. I kill things on the pc that slow me down or get in my way so I can get to the things I want to do faster/easier. You're kind of missing the whole point of the changes...ROFL. They are generally made to save me time so I can get on with my life. You seem to be confused.

Holy christ, i've not seen this much anal devastation in a single post on the internet ever. Thanks for the laugh neckbeard, now go back to your 2L bottle of diet Pepsi and bitching about getting trolled on Reddit.

I use Firefox on my Droid 4 and am very happy with performance and layout. Chrome kept locking up or closing randomly and the Android browser stinks. Might be time to revisit Firefox on my PC. Admittedly the sync feature would be very useful.

i have FireFox 29 with 4 open tabs and 10 extensions and 8 plugin and in the task manager it is only using 408,000k with 1 instance of FireFox

i have the new chrome open with one tab and 7 extensions and in the task manager and there are 13 instances of chrome.exe*32 and it is using 452,000 k ( i'm assuming that old tabs are not closing down right and continue using up the memory )

8gb of ddr3 1866 ballistic ram and a quad core cpu and a 128 gb adata premier pro !

Not sure why your fascinated by anal stuff and penis references. I have never been to reddit and am not willing to go there to find out what it is (hear people wasting time at work on it - mostly laughing, so NSFW to me, or home). :) I don't have a facebook/twitter etc account either (no social crap, waste of time). I do not drink pop of any kind as it has ZERO nutritional value to me; nobody in my family drinks that crap. Don't use butter either; anything else you need to know about my eating habits? Sorry, fitness guy here; tea only for soft drinks and I brew it all (stevia is better than sugar! Make the stuff yourself). It seems to be difficult for you to make an actual point. But you sure are good at making assumptions and judging someone without knowing ANYTHING about them (repeatedly it seems).

Take a look at that chart & LEARN how to argue first please then come back. You didn't even make it off of level 2. Come back when you can at least make a counter-argument. IF you're not making it into the top 3 you've failed.
Stop attacking ME and attack the points of the post. I gave a LOT of reasoning supporting my response, but all I get from you is personal attacks and sex crap. Attacking the person just ends up in an automatic loss. You are accusing me of EXACTLY what you're doing. Maybe you need to stop reading reddit? :) Stop trolling? Actually make a point? Whatever...You're wasting my time, which I'm kind of fond of making the most of. I'm not any smarter for responding to you. OH, BTW I have no beard 😉 I'd ask what a neckbeard is but I fear I'll only get dumber for it and I like my IQ just the way it is. Firefox is flagging me as it being misspelled so that makes sense now. Reddit flagged too...ROFL. I think I'm safe assuming I don't need to know about either. IF there are more like you over there...

Enjoy your evening (day? whatever) 😉

I think Chrome has many memory leaks and will stop using it if they do not fix them !

I mostly use FireFox ( because it is highly customizable and seems more secure ) !

This is on a desktop but it may also be for there mobile versions too !
