...firefox intends to look like chrome and get as stupid as it is (can't customize much of anything, browser for newbs IMHO, like they win8'ed it so badly for ignorant/stupid users that a tech guy can't work with it or change anything), then I will be hanging on to v28 or lower for a long time or just try out Opera again I guess. Chrome/IE are useless to me.
Most people don't spend 3 hours messing with there browser. You install chrome and a few addons like ABP or whatever else you need and your done. Just because people have other things to do with there life does not mean they are "Newbs".
If you really want to swing your l33t haxor shlong around, code your own browser.
How do you get options=l33t? Most people get by browsing, getting email, playing casual games etc. Does that mean all of us shouldn't be allowed to have more options while using our PC? If that's enough for you, I shouldn't be allowed to run Adobe Photoshop etc because most people don't want to learn 100hrs of photoshop to get some skills in it? REAL games shouldn't exist because most people just play casual crap? Most people can't afford a Veyron, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't exist because of it. Most people don't modify
their browser for 3hrs, so to you that means they shouldn't be able to ever try? What part of CHOICE are you not getting here?
Nothing l33t about my browsing skills and I didn't say that so why do you jump to that conclusion? I want the option to make changes so I'm l33t? BTW I don't spend hours modifying my browser (pull 3hrs out of thin air or what?). But when I want or NEED to I can do whatever I want to firefox generally speaking, pretty much in about:config. I don't run more than a dozen plugins/addons (counted I have 9 extensions+5 plugins and 3 extensions are all ABP related) but many of those are like flash, shockwave, java, silverlight, vlc, pdf etc, so things everyone needs to run the web most are not oddball addons as you seem to be suggesting. I don't call power users L33T either, they're just not newbs. Chrome is dumbed down period. It's one thing to pick options by default you think I want. It's a whole other issue when you BLOCK me from changing any of those settings as if you always know best for me. The term NEWB means I think you can actually learn if desired, kind of like being ignorant (not stupid), you just prefer not to learn and take what they give you. I'm a car NEWB for instance, by choice and I'm not offended by being called that. L33T to me means forget it dude, there's no chance for you to get this as it's above your IQ etc
😉 I'm never going to be a l33t pro football player, it's just not in my skill set and never will be. Accepting a browser that allows basically zero changes (compared to firefox/opera anyway), is admitting you want to STAY a newb as well. I'm advocating us all getting what we want (only comes if we can change it), but you think everyone should have what you like and just be ok with it.
Not quite sure how you can figure out how much time I have spent on changing my browser or how to get from 'I like to be able to make changes' to 'you have nothing to do with your life'...LOL. Besides ABP I haven't made changes to my browser in ages, are you not aware you do this usually ONCE? You keep taking the pill they tell you to take like a good little boy (assuming you're a dude, do chicks use words like
schlong? Surely a CHICK would at least know how to spell it?), I'll keep asking what my options are and making up my own mind.

It's not about being l33t, it's about not being spoon fed somebody else's idea of what I should see, think, feel etc. No thanks. You may think one size fits all, but I do not. You can have your newb browser that is dumbed down, just keep your hands off mine thanks. I don't have a problem with someone picking defaults for most users, the problem is taking those and foisting them on everyone which is what you're saying is OK.
I have a problem being spoon fed choices that I usually don't like for the sake of the lazy (they aren't aimed at guys like me, rather aimed at people who don't want to learn anything). I have no problem taking a bit of time learning something new on a PC if it will make my time on them more enjoyable or raise my performance levels in whatever I'm doing on them. I hope you don't take this lackadaisical approach to your whole life as that would mean you're quite likely wasting yours
😉 Most of the changes I make to things on a PC are because I want MORE time in my life. I kill things on the pc that slow me down or get in my way so I can get to the things I want to do faster/easier. You're kind of missing the whole point of the changes...ROFL. They are generally made to save me time so I can get on with my life. You seem to be confused.
