Hello dears,
I used to have a Gigabyte GTX 1070 G1 gaming that I returned before, that card boosted to 1932-1974mhz on full load out the box (nothing oc'ed). When I had it I used NVidia 368.69 driver and 3DMark Firestrike and I had graphic score of 19338

Now I bough an EVGA 1070 FTW, very nice card and high quality one. I boosted out the box to 2012mhz and some slight dips to 2000mhz or 1987mhz during firestrike the whole time (the new edition with Time Spy) as I have MSI AB OSD on screen while testing. But it scores this! using the 369.09 NVidia driver

Why my score is almost 500 points lower? I understand different drivers can give different scores, but not that lower, especially in vs a higher boosting card.
Thanks

Any number of little things could have changed between then and now. The nvidia driver is the obvious one. 3DMark program updates, Windows updates, background program changes, and each card running different BIOS with subtle differences here and there.

My Titan X runs 500-1000 pts slower in the default Firestrike benchmark nowadays. I'd have to go back to 347 release driver for maximum performance. I attribute the driver changes over time for compatibility issues that probably cropped up here and there. Different gaming titles put different loads on the GPUs, so there's a lot of work in the background to keep all of those things in check, like power states and so on. The release drivers are probably a little more aggressive and then get reigned in to compensate for the slight differences in quality of all of the boards that get released over time.

It also doesn't help anyone else out that you did custom benchmark runs. Without that information, nobody with 1070s can attempt to recreate your runs.

Thanks.
I reverted to older NVidia driver, same result.
Then reverted to older futuremark 3DMark version 1.2530. I custom bench so I don't enjoy the demo hundreds of times and uncheck physics and combined test, for fast benches.
And got this score

Looks on par with my previous test on the Gigabyte card.
