Question FireWire IEEE 1394 device connection is not detected in Windows 11

I installed a PCI Express FireWire IEEE 1394 Card in a PC running Windows 11 Pro and UEFI BIOS.

The adapter appears installed in Device Manager, but when the SONY HANDYCAM DIGITAL 8 is connected via the Firewire port, the PC does not display any device connection detection message.

The presence of the SONY HANDYCAM DIGITAL 8 is also not detected in the SONY PlayMemories HOME application used to import the videos.

How do you solve this problem?

Ensure the chipset the PCIE card has is VIA and not TI.

Device Manager can only tell you that the driver reports that is has loaded and acivated properly. It does not and can not tell you that the hardware is working properly.
