Question "Firmware update was unsuccessful" ?

My laptop is an Asus G14 2021 model (3060 + ryzen 9 5900hs) running Windows 11.

System firmware is showing a code 10 error message on device manager, saying that "Firmware update was unsuccessful" Could this be because I have a BIOS update available ?
(My laptop also froze recently and was making a buzzing noise from the speakers which I'm not sure if it is related to this or not.)

No, because the system firmware is the BIOS update. So there is another reason.

You should be able to update the firmware from inside the BIOS itself.

maybe. the buzzing caused by drivers. Might need to update more than just the bios.

Start with the proper bios and chipset driver.....test.
