Looking to build a gaming computer for about ~$2300 and ready to buy, but wanted to ask the community if they would change anything from their experience. It is my first time doing anything like this and not used to dropping this kind of cash on anything. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!:)

My components are as listed:

CPU: i7-4790k--$330
CPU COOLER: Swiftech H220--$100
Motherboard: Asus Maximus VII Hero--$204
GPU:Sapphire Radeon R9 290 4GB Vapor-X Video Card--$460
Memory: Crucial Ballistix 16 GB (2x8GB)--$140
Storage: Samgsung 250 GB SSD--$129
Seagate Barracuda 2 TB $83
Case: NZXT H440--$119
PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 1000W 80+ Gold--$156
OS: Windows 8.1--$100
Monitor: Asus PA248Q 24.1"--$291

Case Fans: x2-Noctua NF-F12 120mm--$42
1-Corsair Air series 140--$25
1-Corsair Air series 120--$25
Total~$2200

I am building this with mostly Gaming in mind, however may expand as interests change.
Choose the i7 For this reason, as well as more cores as future games come out.
Want to "Future proof as much as I can"

Would like to use an All in one water cooler, Swiftech seems to perform the best, and offer expansion for water cooling, like that concept.

Through my research R9 290 is best money-for-performance ratio, so that's why I chose that over a Nvidia card. (Not opposed to Nvidia over AMD)

Please offer any advice before I buy! Thanks so much! :)

fundamentally solid. Good PSU (a bit of over kill is ok.)

I am personally opposed to windows in the case - more of a black box kinda guy - but the case you chose is roomy with good air flow.

It seems like you have been doing a bit of research on toms and finding the weak spots for most build proposals. Good job on the homework.

Everything is fine. But I would complain about that case since it doest have an optical drive slot. And I also would complain about the GPU because you could get an EVGA 780 or 780ti and get into the step up programming which allows you to upgrade your GPU (in a time slot of 90 days) to a better one buy just paying the difference. Since the 800 series is rumores do come in september -October. In my case I'll buy the EVGA after I return from vacations.
But it's your money and you can do all you want with it.😉

For your case fans, you could go with a twin pack Corsair SP120 Quiet Edition. This will be half the price of the Noctuas and they perform fantastic with great static pressure. You could use the extra money to go towards a 780ti.

Thank you I did take your advice and upgraded to a r9 290x tri-x

Thanks! I have been doing quite a lot of homework with this until my head was spinning!:pt1cable:
Black boxes are pretty sexy, but fell in love with the h440 <3

np, though if you can, I'd go for a 780 ti or wait for the 800 series or the new tonga from amd to be released, you'll get much better perofrmance from them

Ah! sadly I did already buy the 290x GPU. In my research I did not come across any upcoming graphics cards. 🙁 Guess I will just have to deal with it, and drool when the new ones come out haha.
