I put this list together for my Wife who will mostly use the system for Business/Work but also probably The Sims / Rollercoaster Tycoon type games. Nothing too extreme.

Looking to cut costs wherever I might be able to, without sacrificing ability to last into the future (The Sims 5?)

Well, that certainly would last into the future for at least a while (I would hope), but my problem though is that unless your wife or you intend to do very CPU intensive processes (HD video/photo editing, etc.) then a 6 core might be overkill. Also, you can probably find cheaper, possibly better mice, keyboard, and headset at other distributors, not to say that Amazon isn't an amazing merchant; I shop with them all the time, but is she really going to need an "extreme" gaming headset if all she'll be playing is The Sims and Rollercoaster Tycoon? Is dual monitors necessary, either, considering what will predominately be done with the computer? These are really the things you gotta ask yourself and that really starts to give you an idea of where you can shave off some excess but feel no less whole; if you can justify it all, then yeah, go for it, seems like an awesome build!

Hi thanks for chiming in. I don't really know how much CPU she will need, I chose the FX-6300 for its' superb ratings on Future-Proof and Dollar-Per-Performance.

I chose the Razer line up of peripherals because her favorite color is Green and she likes Lizards. They're snake-like in appearance. I would actually love to be able to find a Green or Scale-like Case to go with it all.

I'm certainly open to any changes, was just trying to keep her color preferences and limit future upgrades in mind.

Edit: Dual Monitors - We're both bad about browsing Facebook/Email/YouTube/CNN/Pinterest/Instagram all while trying to do our work simultaneously.. This is the only part of the build I'm certain about, everything else I'm clueless and need help.

No problem sir, I'm new to this whole gig myself and just trying to sort the truth as best I can figure it. If you do plan on doing all those things, all at once, then I can't disagree that a 6 core may indeed be appropriate for the two of you. Just scavenging the internet I found this: http://www.amazon.com/BlueFinger%C2%AE-Adjustable-Keyboard-BlueFinger-Customized/dp/B00N3LFDDC/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1443864291&sr=1-1&keywords=gaming+mouse+and+keyboard&refinements=p_n_feature_keywords_two_browse-bin%3A8079845011 , not sure if it's good quality/brand or not, but it does meet the green requirement (and must I admit, that is kinda cool... Also found this mouse, meets the green req and kinda fits the aforementioned keyboard: http://www.amazon.com/BlueFinger%C2%AE-Adjustable-Keyboard-BlueFinger-Customized/dp/B00N3LFDDC/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1443864291&sr=1-1&keywords=gaming+mouse+and+keyboard&refinements=p_n_feature_keywords_two_browse-bin%3A8079845011

And lastly, the headset, same maker, too, of your headset: http://www.amazon.com/Razer-Kraken-Over-Music-Headset/dp/B009SJR278

Oh, I found this too, same price as your other case (note: didn't check case specs to confirm it'd be compatible with the mobo you have picked, so make sure it fits before you get either): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811156300&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-PC&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-PC-_-pla-_-Computer+Cases-_-N82E16811156300&gclid=CJGM9vT_pcgCFQ6HaQod5WsFYg&gclsrc=aw.ds

8 GBs ram should be more than enough for your purposes, I would think. Hope this may have helped.
