Thanks for responding! I should have also mentioned in the post that I am in high school, so this computer is going to be used by my parents and possibly younger sister, so we need a lot of memory. That's the reason for having so much. Also, because I enjoy dabbling in a lot of things like 3d animation, and also need to run Autodesk Inventor for school purposes, that is the reason for the 16gb of RAM, which I know normally is overkill. So a big question of mine first of all, partially just out of curiosity, would my above build work well, if at all? And then secondly, what advantages would the build you suggested have over the one I put together above?
- your cooler is horizontal , not good, they are made for tight machines . they sacrifice some air flow for compactness.
- your Asrock does not have good sound on board.
- the SSD is no big deal , you can add it any time you want, I suggest if you want one to ignore Sandisk and get Samsung 840 pro . If you are some editing it is better to use an SSD , but thats 120$ more for a good one , and I wanted you to have the 2x graphic cards first. you will be stuck with the graphic card ,but SSD can add later . if you can raise the budget i will add it. but not at the expense of the GPU .
- you can add memory if you want , and yes 16G is a must if you are editing thats $50 more , but again you can add memory any time later .. but you cant chande good graphic cards later .
- the wifi adapter you can get yourself .. also anytime you want. System is more important .. the BASE System that you cant change in the future.
- I chose a better cooled not expensive case the HAF XM , it is a wonderfull case and important for 2 GPU cards.
- for 2 gpu you need 850 watts so I added it.
- IPS monitors are better than TN , 144 hz ? that means you need to reach 140 fps to feel the difference , Most games at ultra high settings wont reach more than 60 fps , thats 60 hz LCD , why sacrifice the rich colors of IPS and great viewing angles for hz ? If you want the best in the world Gaming Monitor , it i the Eizo Foris 2333 good for every thing , gaming , movies , colors , every thing and an IPS at 3.4 ms with 5 years warranty , but is is for 370$ so tell me your choices .
- you chosen a GTX 670 , thats an outdated product , the GTX 770 is faster and the new one , and I added 2 of them .. you will enjoy gaming at ultra high settings all on... you will never look back
Please reply to me what you think and what you want so I can change the build according to what you want .
